Return & Refund Policy

At The Fly Fishing Place, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We offer a 30-day return window on most unused items.

Return Eligibility

  • Items must be returned within 30 days of delivery.
  • Items must be unused, in original condition, with all tags and packaging intact.
  • Flies must be in their original packaging and unused.
  • Some items (custom-tied flies, clearance items, or final-sale products) may be non-returnable. These will be clearly marked on the product page.

Return Shipping Costs

  • Flies: We happily cover the return shipping cost for flies fulfilled by us.
  • Other Merchandise (rods, reels, apparel, accessories, etc.): Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective or we made an error. Manufacturer-direct items follow the individual manufacturer’s return policy.

How to Initiate a Return

  1. Contact us first by email at editors@theflyfishingplace.com before sending anything back.
  2. Include your order number, the items you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
  3. We will provide return instructions and email you a prepaid return shipping label that you can download and print. A Return Authorization (RA) number will be provided if needed.

Please do not send returns without contacting us first.

Refunds

  • Once we receive and inspect your returned item(s), we will process your refund.
  • Refunds are issued within 5–7 business days of receiving the return.
  • Original shipping fees are generally non-refundable, except in cases where we made an error or shipped the wrong item.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

Defective or Damaged Items

If you received a defective or damaged item, please contact us immediately. In most cases, we will cover return shipping and either replace the item or issue a full refund (including original shipping).

International Returns

International customers are responsible for all return shipping costs and any customs fees. Refunds will be issued for the product cost only (original international shipping and duties are non-refundable).
