BEULAH SPEY ROD: 12'6"6

BEULAH PLATINUM SPEY ROD SERIES: 12' 6" 6 WEIGHT SPEY - 4 PIECE

If Beulah two handed rods were a baseball team, their new Platinum 12’6” 6 weight would be the MVP. Thanks to Beulah's unique carbon scrim the blank weighs only 2.85 ounces and the completed rod weighs only 6.5 ounces. What kind of 6 weight is it? Spot on! This rod features a more traditional full-flex Spey action that loads deep into the butt section with extremely fast tip recovery making it a joy to cast in all conditions. To the usual questions: The answer is YES! It will handle big water and big brute Steelhead while not overpowering the smallish 3-4 pound fish making them special too. All line types and styles including Scandinavian, Skagit, Mid or Long Belly will agree and excel when matched to Beulah's Platinum 12’6” 6 weight.

Beulah Classic and Platinum Spey Fly Rod Series

We all can remember just a few years ago heading to any summer or fall Steelhead destination and in a week of fishing seeing just a handful of Spey rods on any given river. Nowadays, take the same trip and you're more than likely to see just a handful of single handed fly rods wielded by Steelheaders. When Beulah Rods blossomed into full blown production of two-handed Spey rods just three years ago it was spot on timing and a natural extension of the “Switch” series they had unleashed that changed fisherman's minds about what a fly rod could be.

One thing that all Spey fishing seems to have in common over the last few years: Neither two rod builders nor two anglers can generally agree on anything Spey related from casting technique to properly lining the rod to how to hold your mouth when spey casting. We have also noticed that in the Spey game when you are chasing anadromous fish you never know if you are twenty minutes or two weeks away from your next pull. It is all of these factors and questions about lines, casting technique, flies and what part of the water column best suits success that adds to the never-ending mystique and thrill of fishing a two-hand fly rod.

ABOUT BEULAH'S PLATINUM SPEY ROD SERIES

This new three rod series features an 11'7” 5 weight trout spey, a 12’6” 6 weight and a 13’2” 7 weight. Vastly different from the Beulah Classic Series Spey line up, the Platinum Spey Rods offer a more traditional flex pattern that loads much deeper into the butt section, has a fast and terrific feeling tip recovery and is feather weight in hand. Beulah's new Platinum Series is designed around brand new mandrels and utilizes a Carbon scrim process, lower 28% resin count to bring the overall blank weight down and a much higher blank pressure rolling technique that insures better overall blank consistency. Now more than ever, whether you prefer fast or moderate to fast ast action, short or long, light or strong, Beulah offers an incredibly well built two hand fly rod for discriminating anglers at the exceptional value that Beulah is known for.
